Veronica Farm Fudge

Veronica Farm Fudge
Blogging about food certainly has lots of perks. One of them is getting to sample fantastic artisan products from local producers. The lovely Kris and Geoff from Veronica Farm on Bryher (Isles of Scilly) sent me an email recently, asking if I would like to try their fudge..... so obviously I said no! Only joking, I LOVE fudge.

Kris and Geoff started making fudge over 20 years ago and they now have a purpose built fudge kitchen at the farm. Despite their growth and success they still utilise the traditional methods of fudge making and use locally sourced butter, milk and clotted cream from St Agnes, a neighbouring island. They sell their fudge at outlets throughout Bryher, at the local produce market and at their farm gate where they also provide useful maps of the island to tourists. Building on their popularity, they also now sell their Vanilla fudge by post, priced at £7.25 for 250g. My letterbox sized parcel arrived just yesterday in a beautiful but sturdy (read *can handle anything the post office throws at it*) box - the picture on the front is by Cornish artist Tom Holland, who is a regular visitor to Bryher.

They kindly sent me a selection of their fudge to try. My favourite was the Christmas Pudding fudge with the Chocolate fudge coming a close second. It was beautiful and creamy, just how it should be and if it isn't gobbled down in one sitting, the fudge will keep for a few months if stored correctly. If you are lucky enough to visit Bryher they also do other varieties such as Whisky and Stem Ginger, Rum and Raisin, Maple Syrup, Pecan and Clotted Cream and Coffee and Cream.

Thanks Kris and Geoff!
