Slow Cooker Pulled Beef

This tender and succulent slow cooker pulled beef is a must try! The beef brisket benefits from long slow cooking in a BBQ style sauce, and results in a melt-in-the-mouth taste sensation.

Slow Cooker Pulled Beef

I love my slow cooker, which, if you read this blog regularly, you've probably already guessed! This slow cooker pulled beef recipe, is right up there as one of my all time favourites.

I regularly make slow cooker pork, slow cooker gammon, and slow cooker pulled chicken, all of which are delicious of course, but this slow cooker pulled beef really is out of this world good.

The melt-in-the-mouth texture the beef takes on whilst cooking, is something you don't really get with other cuts of meat and poultry.

This is a great recipe for feeding to a crowd too, as a little bit goes a long way.

What is the best cut of beef for pulled beef?

Beef brisket is a great joint of beef for slow cooking. It's an inexpensive cut and benefits from long slow cooking.

Beef brisket becomes extremely tender, and really easy to shred, once it's been slow cooked in a crockpot or slow cooker.

How to serve it?

Slow cooked pulled beef is so versatile. I usually serve it in tortilla wraps, with grated cheddar cheese, salad, sliced red onion, apple coleslaw and sour cream.

It's a take on beef burritos, and we all LOVE beef burritos in this house!

Leftovers are good in an air fryer cheese toastie too!

You could also serve the pulled beef brisket in rolls (like a Sloppy Joe), in taco's, or even on top of jacket potatoes.

If you want to go a little more traditional, the pulled beef can also be served with fresh vegetables and roast potatoes, for a hearty and warming meal.

Do I have to brown beef before slow cooking?

No. You don't need to brown the beef before cooking it in the slow cooker. Just pop it straight in your slow cooker pot, turn on, and away you go! It really is that easy.

Can I freeze it?

Slow cooked pulled beef freezes really well. If you have any leftovers, just pop them in a freezer safe container and stash away in your deep freeze until needed.

The slow cooker pulled beef will quite happily sit in your fridge for a couple of days after cooking too.

Step 5: Shred the beef with two forks. Depending how big or small your slow cooker is, sometimes it's easier to take the beef out of the slow cooker and shred on a chopping board, before returning the pulled beef to the sauce.

  2. I've done plenty of pulled pork, but never really done a similar thing with beef, but a beef brisket sounds like it would work perfectly x

  3. I have done this with pork but never beef and it sounds amazing. I love the slow cooker. It definitely makes life easier and it produces the most tender pieces of meat. This looks delicious and i'm sure it tasted the same
