Valentines Day Chocolate Brownie Hearts

I'm not really into Valentines Day - it's a bit commercialised for me, but even though hubby and I don't celebrate (it's been about 10 years since we last went out for a meal on Valentines Day I think), I do like to make a bit of effort these days for the kids. If you're of my persuasion and not really fussed about it, but feel like you ought to make the effort for your loved one or the kids, these easy chocolate brownie hearts  are the perfect recipe for you! TOP TIPS FOR MAKING A CHOCOLATE BROWNIE HEART PLATTER I added some fudge pieces to the brownie batter but  you could use chopped up chocolate bars (Mars Bars and Double Decker's work well), dried fruit or nuts instead (in the same quantity as I used the fudge). I made a quick salted caramel sauce to drizzle over the brownie hearts and the red raspberries added a nice colour contrast. You could even use a shop bought sauce or coulis and decant it into a nice jug. Once out of the oven, chill...

Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Oh my goodness these Chocolate Fudge Brownies are SO YUMMY...good enough to ditch the January diet for! Dense and fudgy, they will satisfy your sweet tooth cravings and then some! Hidden inside the chocolatey exterior are pieces of buttery fudge for an extra sweet hit. Feel free to leave the fudge out if you prefer, or swap it for some dried fruits and nuts instead (cranberries, sour cherries, and walnuts would be good) .... but I REALLY like the fudge! Put these on your baking list for the weekend and everyone in your family will love you forever. They are, in the words of my 9 year old, 'epic'. Let me know if you try them! TIPS FOR MAKING CHOCOLATE BROWNIES Make sure all the ingredients, especially the eggs are at room temperature. For a clean cut brownie, let them cool fully in the tin then place in the fridge overnight before cutting into slices. Clean the knife off with kitchen paper between each cut. Swap the fudge pieces for some sour cherries and walnuts fo...

Double Chocolate Cranberry Brownies

These happened by accident but my goodness I'm glad they did. I had a little bit of cranberry sauce leftover in a jar as well as half a packet of dried cranberries, so decided to develop this naughty chocolate brownie recipe full of festive flavour. The brownies turned out moist and fudgy - helped by the cranberry sauce - and were gobbled up by hubby's work colleagues in minutes. The chopped nuts on top are optional but added a really lovely crunch. I'm going to be making some more for Boxing Day! Triple Chocolate Brownies

Gooey triple chocolate brownies with dark, milk and white chocolate. Not for the faint hearted! These triple chocolate brownies are AMAZING (so the kids and hubby tell me). The secret I find is to pop them in the fridge overnight to firm up before slicing. They still stay gooey but are much easier to get out of the tin without falling apart.
